My 156R is just right for 25-day trips through the Grand Canyon. A very forgiving boat in the big water, and easy to row. Thanks for the great design!

The 156R is the best all-around boat out there. It works well as paddle boat and oar rig. It also is great set up with a stern frame and a paddle crew. We have had these set ups in big water and small creeks as well as 1-3 week multi-day trips and have had nothing but success all around.

The 156R is a great raft. The Grand canyon trip was no problem for this boat! It handles like a 14 foot raft on steroids. Next trip the Middle Fork of the Salmon River.
The straight sections of the R Series boats now feature 43-ounce chafe strips for greater durability. R stands for round - the traditional round boat design. With their broader beams, larger tube diameters and longer waterlines, these are the most stable of all AIRE rafts. R Series rafts are ideally suited for families with children and epic three-week trips on the Grand Canyon.

For extra durability this model is available constructed with Urethane fabric. Please call for pricing.
