NRS Frame U-Style Raft Motor Mount

This mount is an excellent choice for heavier motors—the curved bars rest securely against the raft’s tubes to help distribute weight evenly and increase stability.

The frame is built from heavy-duty 1-5/8" OD 6061-T6 aluminum pipe, while the transom plate measures 1 1/2" x 7 1/2" x 18" and is made from a durable wood/plastic composite that resists rot and UV degradation. Two aluminum channels reinforce the plate, and four 4 1/4" U-bolts keep it firmly attached to the frame.

If you already have an NRS Stern Seat Mount, the Motor Mount can be installed on either side of the seat plate. If you don’t have a stern seat, the mount includes a 24" frame pipe to connect directly to the stern rails.

For users without a Stern Seat Mount, a pair of NRS Stern Side Rails (Item #90022.02, sold separately) will be needed to link the Motor Mount to your rear cross bar. We offer three standard sizes:

32" and 39" Small Rails – best for 54" or narrower frames

36" Large Rails – ideal for 60" or wider frames

Measure the distance from the center of your rear cross bar to the center of the raft’s rear tube to determine which size works best. Custom-bent rails are also available upon request.

The bars where the mount attaches to the transom plate are spaced 14" apart, center-to-center. If your raft’s valves interfere with this spacing, custom transom plates are available. The spacing from the center of the attachment bar to the upright bars is 25". The transom plate can be mounted on either side of the uprights and adjusted vertically to match your motor setup.

This mount fits raft tubes 18"–24" in diameter. Most users find that a 10-hp motor is the upper limit for safe and efficient use. Even a 3-hp motor can move a raft at a respectable pace.

Important: Always attach a safety rope or strap from your motor to the frame.
